My parrot fish just recently got into the same behavior. One goes after the other and then they start kissing. But one of my poor fish has a huge mart on his nose. He is the one who starts it and wont stop. What do I do with them?

Patient hobbyists have spent years breeding the different South American cichlids, sometimes crossing completely different species to produce fish that are never found in the wild. Kissing parrot fish, more commonly known as blood parrot fish or blood parrot cichlids, are a lively example of these artificial hybrids. As you might have guessed, their habit of locking lips isn’t kissing at all. It is a relatively gentle form of fighting – the fish are wrestling.Got a video clip of Big Hump male Flowerhorn fish kissing the Golden Red Parrot female fish. I thought it was so funny, last for about 1/2 hours, a few times during the mating period (a few days). It seams like the male Flowerhorn couldn't get enough kisses from his Red Parrot girlfriend !!!

Hope you like the clip...Watch The amazing/beautiful Parrot fish kissing each other and sharing love all around the world.....

LoveRe: Breeding Parrot Cichlids. Cichlid ParentsAbandoned Nest Hi Chuck, Thanks so much for your kind and promptadvice. Unfortunately, the cichlids abandoned their nest early thismorning, and the piggy pink kissers quickly moved in to eat, or ratherinhale, the eggs. Many had a white mold/fungus on themanyway, so they probably weren't fertilized, right? For whatever reason, during my previous six years offishkeeping cichlids never interested me. But now I'mlearning how amazing the world of cichlids reallyis. Adopting these two adorable Parrots (or Jellybeans?) isprobably just the beginning. Again, thank you so very much. Bestregards, Alisa PS - As usual, I mixed up the nitrites and nitrates inthe previous email. Opps. Blood Parrot fish are sometimes called "kissing" parrot fish due to a kissing motion they make. Known for their bright orange coloring and gentle temperament, Blood Parrots are a man-made cross-bred fish that can grow up to 8 inches long. Because the Blood Parrot is a hybrid fish, it suffers from anatomical abnormalities like a deformed swim bladder and a beak-shaped mouth. Some fish enthusiasts believe the Blood Parrot should not be bred because of these abnormalities. My parrot fish just recently got into the same behavior.
