Glass Tops are important for aquariums so that 1) water doesn’t evaporate quickly and 2) to protect fish that may jump out of the water. Aquarium strip lights and light fixtures do not offer full coverage on the aquarium top, so it is important to also get a glass top with this type of lighting. Aqueon Glass Tops are quality made and include a silicone hinge and handle. This allows for opening the glass top to access fish and décor, for feeding and for other routine aquarium maintenance. Be sure to use the correct size glass top for the aquarium size. Window screen frame. Used to create clear netting tops for the aquarium as part of a do-it-yourself project.

The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta tops many lists of the best aquariums in the country. With so many educational experiences, fascinating exhibits, and entertaining events it’s not difficult to understand why it’s made our list, too. When you visit the Georgia Museum, enjoy wandering amongst impressive tanks of marine life, and make sure to check out the illusive whale sharks. This aquarium is the only institution outside of Asia to house this particular shark species. In total, the Georgia Aquarium contains between 100,000 and 120,000 fish and other sea creatures. All lighting can be used along with an automatic timer, which fish will appreciate. Overall, strip lights and light fixtures are meant for use with glass tops in order to provide full coverage over the top of the aquarium. Coverage greatly reduces water evaporating from the aquarium. A full hood light fixture will also provide the necessary full coverage. All tanks are made of at least 1/2″ acrylic. Material thickness increases with size and height of the aquarium-up to 1 1/4″ for taller displays. All tanks have 3/4″ tops to allow larger top openings for access. All Museum grade seams with radiused & polished corners.
