Solution: There are 12 fish. If 3 fish are put in each tank there will be 4 tanks.

About 60 percent of the fish died in the first two months. One of the casualties was the harlequin tusk, an Australian fish with purple teeth and the most expensive fish in the tank at $300. Today, only 10 fish are alive.
Eddie's Aquarium had eight tanks ready to handle 30 or 40 fish, Duncan said.

Cories are spunky little bottom-feeding catfish that only grow to about 2-3 inches in length. They're peaceful, fun to watch, and best of all they serve as the "clean-up crew" for your tank. This Back to the Roots AquaFarm 3 Gallon Fish Tank is self-cleaning and grows food.

It's a good idea to have in mind what kind of freshwater aquarium fish you want to keep in your freshwater aquarium setup before you purchase an aquarium. Some fish only grow to be an inch or two, whereas other types of tropical fish can grow 12 or 13 inches or more in length! Knowing what kind of fish you want will help you decide the size of the tank they will need. If this is your first time with an aquarium, it may be a good idea to start with a 10 or 20 gallon aquarium setup for now and stock it with some smaller and hardier species. The purpose of this task is to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate that they can interpret within a given context the meaning of whole number quotients. Since this particular context is an asymmetric model of multiplication, there are two distinct interpretations of the quotients that can arise. The given context is an asymmetric model of multiplication in the sense that 4 tanks with 3 fish per tank is different than 3 tanks with 4 fish per tank, even though in both cases there are a total of 12 fish. The convention used here is that the number of groups is listed first and the number of objects in each group is listed second, although in this case the context determines whether 3 or 4 is the group (respectively, number of objects in each group). Although these terms are not mentioned in the standards, the number of groups is sometimes called the multiplier and the number of objects in each group is called the mutiplicand.Note: It is important that students can make sense of both of these interpretations of division arising from a single multiplication context with the factors and quotients all whole numbers. These interpretations will be extended to contexts with fractions and decimal in later grades. Suppose there are 4 tanks and 3 fish in each tank. The total number of fish in this situation can be expressed as $4 imes 3 = 12$. 3 fish tank upgrade by MADE
