For those looking to have the perks of a canister filter on a smaller tank, the Rapids Mini Canister is a great option. With a of 80 gallons per hour, it is suitable for aquariums up to 20 gallons. It comes with a spray bar and directional flow diffuser. Warrantied for two years, this filter is a good option for a small tank, particularly the Nano tanks.

If the budget allows, I would recommend canister filters. Your tank is on the large size, which requires a lot of filtration. Canister filters have the best filtration in real term, even when the Gallon Per Hour rating on the other filters are higher. Considering your aquarium size, I’d recommend two (instead of just one) canister filters. For example, you could do two x EHEIM Classic 2213 which give you total 120g manufacturer rated filtration. If your aquarium will be heavily stocked, get something higher rated such as 2215 or 2217. If the budget is a problem, you can also get two large Power Filters. Additional filtration can be obtained by install sponge filters on the intake of the canister and power filters. I personally have a 20 gallon aquarium with a canister filter rated for a 75 gallon tank and it keeps the tank crystal clear.

This freshwater aquarium filter includes all of the same features but produces on a smaller scale. The AquaClear 20 Power Filter ensures just that by incorporating a multi-stage filtration system. This filter is easy to install and comes with an energy efficient pump. It’s ideal for small fish tanks and can handle a capacity of 20 gallons. The AquaClear foam that comes with this filter acts as a sponge that traps dirt while the activated carbon does a good job of treating any chemicals that may be present in the water. This is a great option for a fish tank filter if the aquarium you are trying to maintain is 20 gallons or less. However, you still need to take care and put in the proper place. It is better to buy the complete set of an aquarium with filter, heater, aquatic control, fishnet, water care, etc. You may buy separate parts and tools, but you still need to adjust it. In this article, five best aquariums with capacity 20 gallons are presented to consider.Powerhead (water pump)Water is pumped up and out of the filter tubes back into the aquarium and, by effect, drawing new water through the gravel to the bottom of the tank. Not a whole lot different from using an air pump. The powerhead you should be using depends on the square footage of your tanks base. Your powerhead should be rated from 60-90 GPH per square foot. For a 16×30 inch base you should be looking at a powerhead that will pump 200-300 gallons per hour.Showing you guys my 20 gal long Aqueon fish tank , with live plants , 4 guppies & a baby bristlenose pleco! :D let me know if you guys want me to maybe do this weekly? :o
